The WSA Painting Prize celebrates outstanding painting practice at undergraduate level, culminating in an annual exhibition at the Winchester Gallery, University of Southampton in the Autumn of each year.
The Prize is an international initiative seeking to build on a long-standing tradition of cultural and creative exchange between Greece and the UK through education and art. With the intention of creating opportunities for young Greek artists in collaboration with their contemporaries in the UK, this initiative invites every higher education institution in the UK and in Greece that offers a BA Fine Art or Painting course to nominate a BA student to submit work.
Nominations will be reviewed anonymously and the final selection will be made by British artist Vanessa Jackson RA and Greek artist Christiana Soulou.
The WSA Painting Prize is organized by Winchester School of Art, a centre of excellence for undergraduate fine art with a long tradition of challenging, experimental and accomplished painting.
The WSA Painting Prize has been developed to support artists at an early stage in their practice.
