We are delighted to announce the WSA Painting Prize 2024. The Prize celebrates outstanding painting practice at undergraduate level, culminating in an annual exhibition at the Winchester Gallery, University of Southampton, in the Autumn.
We invite higher education institutions that offers either a BA Fine Art or Painting course in the UK and in Greece to participate by nominating a painting student currently enrolled. Submissions must include paintings and/or work considered as painting in the expanded field.
All submissions are reviewed anonymously and the final selection is made by British artist Vanessa Jackson RA and Greek artist Christiana Soulou. The Prize is an invitation to take part in the Award Exhibition held in The Winchester Gallery in Autumn of 2024.
There will be a Public Event to celebrate, and we broadcast the winners online and on social media outlets. A list of participating institutions and all the nominated students are also listed on our website.
The Exhibition is accompanied by a small publication featuring the winners as well as a long-list of participating institutions. The publication will be produced and designed by WSA painting students.
